Meet Minister April Coleman

Minister April was born and raised in First Baptist Church of Linden, NJ under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Smauel E. Shell, Pastor. Accepting Jesus at the age of 8 years old, and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Linden.

Minister April was active in the church; attending Sunday School, sang with the Junior Choir, the Intermediate Choir, the Emergency Choir, and the Mass Choir; holding the position of Treasurer in the Intermediate Choir.

In 2004 Minister April began attending Bible Study at Praise Temple Interdenominational Church of God, subsequently becoming a member in 2005, under the leadership of Bishop Tony McNeill, Pastor. While there, she served as President of the Hospitality Ministry, member of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, Dance Ministry, Vice President of the Women’s Ministry, sang on the Praise Team, and the Sounds of Pentecost Choir. She was always willing to help and assist in all areas of the church when called upon.

In 2012 she joined the family of Scripture DC, an outreach Christian ministry, as the Executive Administrator.

In 2013, she began studying the bible more with her brother-in-love, the late Minister Kevin Miller. Meeting weekly, he helped her understand the bible more and suggested she use the New King James version.

From 2017 until now, Pastor Tanya, led by God, continued to cultivate her in ministry. She began teaching youth bible study in 2017, and by 2019, she was teaching the adult class.

In October 2021, she joined Freedom & Liberty Outreach Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor Tanya McAllister-Miller. As a small and growing church, she was appointed the Church Administrator and Trustee for Freedom & Liberty Outreach Fellowship, the Executive Administrator and armor bearer to Pastor Tanya. She takes her duties seriously and serves to the glory of God.

She received the call to Minister in 2022 as a disciple of Freedom &  Liberty Outreach Fellowship. She did not ask for this nor did she think it would be something God would call her too. He has allowed Pastor Tanya McAllister-Miller, to see what was instilled in her, to help cultivate it as a Minister in Training. In November 2024, she was licensed a Minister serving on the ministerial staff at Freedom & Liberty Outreach Fellowship.

She is currently a student at Screven Memorial Bible Institute, Newark, NJ, studying General Biblical Studies.

She is the proud mother of two adult children, Chana Williams and Mikal Laurel, and grandmother of four, Jyell, Jaden, Joy and Ava, all of whom are the loves of my life. She thanks God for each one of them.

Her favorite scripture, Psalm 34:1 … I will bless the Lord at all times and his praises shall continually be in my mouth. She loves this scripture, for no matter what is going on in her life and around her, God gets all the glory. She can praise him anytime and anywhere. She will let nothing stop her from praising her Lord and Savior.
